Fund Raisers on San Francisco Bay Yacht Cruises

One of the fastest growing aspects of our yacht charter business is fundraisers.

Everyone enjoys a good time – especially if part of the admission fee goes to a worthy cause. And there’s a lot of need out there.

We help plan fundraisers for (to name a few):

• Rotary Club
• VFW
• American Legion
• Boys and Girls Club
• Red Cross
• United Way
• Goodwill

Dan Chapman of the Boys and Girls Club of Stockton took a risk when he booked our Celebrations Commodore yacht for the club’s annual fundraiser.

There were many objections to suggest that the safe course would be to have the same old, same old. But perhaps Dan realized that innovation buoys spirits and interest. He contacted us to book the yacht and we assured him that we would get the yacht there on time just as we have for the past thirty years. Then he contacted the Port of Stockton, whose staff couldn’t have been more helpful in providing not only a place for the yacht to dock but also unlimited parking for the attendees.

Dan's event raised $70,000. Here’s what Dan had to say:

"You guys really delivered beyond our expectations! I was impressed by the fact that you were true to your words, in reference to what you could and would do. I was appreciative of Keith's (our VP/Food) going out of his way to get the televisions switched to make the auction possible. I was skeptical about your food being as good as you said it was, but the food really was outstanding. My wife, being in the hospitality industry for years said the quality was excellent.

"We’ve had many calls and e-mails from guests who said this year’s event was the best ever. There have been rave comments from some of our biggest sponsors, i.e. the largest real estate developer in Stockton and the owner of a professional football team. Our most important sponsors were aboard and we really impressed them."

For us, his greatest compliment was his booking for next year!

"Our members and their guests enjoyed an evening of fun, dancing, dining, gaming, and bidding on our auction items. The results were very rewarding. We raised approximately $25,000 net to benefit the charities of Alameda. Also, the 'Wonderful World of Rotary' was revealed to the many guests invited by our nine corporate sponsors.

Heidi McCauglin (our VP/Sales) was very professional in helping us plan the event. She was organized and helpful in answering all of our questions. Keith McMahon (our VP/food) is to be complimented in his handling of our needs. All the changes we requested, i.e. table removals, getting us more gaming tables and chairs, and doing the general layout. He did things in a very professional manner and responded to all of our change requests with a positive attitude. He also worked hard that evening to make sure things ran smoothly.

"You are to be commended for the attitude of your employees. Everyone from Austin, who was cooking, to the table setters and those who did the final clean up were so thoughtful and helpful. Our people were impressed by their attitudes and took the time to express such to me. You run a good ship and are to be complimented for securing and keeping the quality employees you have. All attendees were very complimentary of the event and made such statements as,'‘Forget the Crab Feed, we love these Black Tie Events!'; 'Great job; do it again!' I’ve heard no negative comments, only praise."
