Our home port is located in Alameda. However, we service 10 other ports around the Bay including San Francisco’s Pier 40, adjacent to AT&T Park.

Susan Dittmar Proescher:
Susan is the Co-Founder of Commodore Cruises & Events. She graduated from Miami University of Ohio with degrees in French & Education. Following graduation she went on to fly with Pan American World Airways as a flight attendant/purser before becoming co-founder of Hornblower Yachts in 1973. A few years after selling that company with her husband, Ward, Susan co-founded Commodore Cruises & Events in 1986.
Captain Morgan Proescher:
Morgan is a U.S. Merchant Mariner and President of Commodore Cruises & Events. He is a graduate of the Keenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina. For the past ten years, Morgan has had the responsibility of maintaining Commodore’s pristine fleet of 6 luxury yachts as well as running the company’s day to day operations. Morgan is married and has three little girls who keep him busy playing hide-and-seek. When his wife lets him, Morgan enjoys bass fishing throughout Northern California.

A native to California, Linda spent her childhood learning the art of entertaining from her mother who planned special events and holiday parties for the whole community. As an adult, Linda found roots in Sonoma and Napa Valleys, planning weddings and corporate events. Concluding her education in San Francisco, she went on to work in concert production and entertainment on the east coast. A few years later, she returned to California to broaden her event planning skills in the nonprofit sector as well as the yacht event industry. Currently, she is thrilled to be back amongst the city lights of San Francisco working for a family owned business doing what she loves to do. From weddings to concert productions, corporate events to nonprofit events, air shows to trade shows, Linda can plan it. Combining 30 years of experience, she warmly welcomes each client to Commodore as a part of the family!
Event Sales Manager, Wedding Planner
As a California newcomer, Victoria has spent a majority of her life working in sales & marketing throughout the Pacific Islands. Originally from the Mariana Islands, Victoria moved to Honolulu to attend the University of Hawaii, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing. Throughout her undergraduate career she worked as an events assistant for the university’s law school, and held various marketing and sales & promotion internships. She came to us from her last position at the university’s Office of the Board of Regents, where she spent several years in executive administration assisting some of Hawaii’s top business and community leaders. It is through her variety of experiences Victoria has realized her love for event coordination and client services. Making California her home, you can find Victoria searching out used bookstores and exploring the sights and experiences throughout the area.
Event Sales Manager, Wedding Planner
Brenda is a proud East Bay native. She has a passion for creating milestone experiences for her clients that their guests will talk about for years! Brenda first fell in love with planning events during her freshman year in college when she began working for a catering company. Since then she has dedicated both her academic and job experience to event planning, graduating with a degree in Hospitality Management from California State University East Bay and working for a variety of event planning and wedding planning companies. Through this work she found a special passion and aptitude for planning weddings. Her enjoyment and successes come from her ability to exceed each couple’s special vision for their wedding day while carefully capturing each detail along the way. Though weddings are her expertise, she loves planning all kinds of events and loves helping others make memories on the Bay she loves so much. Outside of work Brenda enjoys spending time with her dog Nike and traveling whenever possible. She also loves the outdoors and feels lucky to live in an area where the weather allows for so much activity year-round.

Event Planner Toby manages one of our largest departments –Student Parties on San Francisco Bay – which, for 30 years, has been the most successful of such program on San Francisco Bay.
As Commodore’s creative and enthusiastic Executive Chef, Miguel shares his passion for food with all of our clients. He has culinary training and extensive knowledge of a number of cuisines including French, modern Mediterranean and seafood and is making a real statement on board with the Indian community with his personally designed menus. He is extremely skilled at putting his unique stamp on traditional dishes, creating new combinations and experimenting with local ingredients and originality. In his 30 years of experience as a Chef, he has garnered professional experience in a wide range of kitchens. He has worked in landmark hotels, busy restaurants and catering establishments around the Bay Area. Chef Miguel is particularly proud of the three years he spent at the Claremont Resort and Spa as the Banquet Chef. He also spent three additional years at the Claremont as an Executive Sous Chef and was commended by the Executive Chef for his technique as well as his planning skills. His time at the Claremont led to executive chef positions both locally and regionally.

Event Sales Manager
Born and raised in the Bay Area, Jewell has been in the event planning business for nearly 35 years. After earning her degree from San Francisco State University, she began her own business in Event Coordinating and has planned a variety of event types, including Weddings, Schools, Fundraisers, Corporate and Private Events. Her passion for events began at a young age, being the middle child of seven kids and one of thirty-one grandchildren in a very close knit Filipino family. Every weekend was a celebration! Her greatest accomplishments is being married to her college sweetheart for over 30 years and mom to her two children. As a loyal client of Commodore for over fifteen years, it was an easy jump to come aboard as one of our seasoned wedding and event professionals. Her decorating knowledge has proven to be a terrific resource to all of our clients. Jewell’s primary goal is to service our clients’ needs down to every detail, always with a smile on her face.
Event Sales Assistant
Amber was born in a small town in Illinois and still carries with her the lessons she learned growing up – the value of teamwork, the importance of helping others, and the joy that comes from successfully working towards a goal. Her studies brought her to the Bay Area. She attended San Francisco State University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and marketing. She also received an Associate’s Degree with honors from Santa Barbara City College. She has worked in the hospitality industry for half her life, but she found her passion last year when she began a career in the event planning industry. She loves every moment she has spent creating and being a part of unforgettable moments for clients. Besides event planning, her interests include her bunny rabbit Gus, arts and crafts, music, sports of all kinds and travel!
Event Sales Assistant
Patricia has significant experience in the event planning and customer service industry and has found her home at Commodore as an Event Sales Assistant. In this important role, she helps coordinate client details and yacht preparations. Hers is the first voice you hear when you call Commodore, and she’s looking forward to speaking with you! She has been planning events for over 7 years and has owned her own event planning business. During this time, she earned her Professional Event Planning Title with the Association of Certified Wedding Consultants. She has also worked in banking, event sales, office management and event production. These experiences have earned her logistical and customer service expertise that greatly add to the smooth functioning of the Commodore team. Outside of work, Patricia enjoys spending time with her family – her husband of eleven years and her two beautiful daughters.
